Because YOU matter! Our goal is to offer an effective and comprehensive range of support services to all students, which will help them to fulfil their potential and achieve the maximum benefit from their course at Newton Rigg College.
Student Services aims to offer students impartial information, advice and guidance on a full range of services, including (but not limited to):
• Finance (grants, bursaries, student loans, and benefits.)
• Health and welfare issues (health promotions, sexual health nurses, doctors' appointments)
• Counselling appointments
• Careers advice and guidance
• Personal support
• Events and activities
• Safeguarding
Where to Find Us
We are based in the middle of the campus in the Grasmere Building (the topmost office).
Opening Times
We are open Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm; between these times there is always someone there to help no matter how big or small your problem and outside of these hours Warden support is available.

Careers
Our advisers are able to provide advice and support to help prepare students for their next step whether it is further or higher education or employment.
Student Wellbeing Service
There may be occasions during your time at College when you experience problems, feel under pressure or just want to talk to someone. Our Student Wellbeing Co-ordinator is available to support anyone who feels they may need help. Our service at the College is confidential, free, discreet, relaxed, friendly and honest.
Financial Advice
We can provide you with information and advice on funding, bursaries, grants, student loans, access funds, charities and welfare benefits. If we cannot answer your questions we can make a referral to someone who can.
Individual Tutorials
All FE students in College are given space on their timetables to have individual appraisals with their Course Manager to discuss any issues they have regarding their programme of study or their general wellbeing.
Safeguarding
The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults. Incidents and concerns must be reported to the Safeguarding Team, if there is something bothering you at home or at College or you are worried about a fellow student you can contact the Safeguarding Team 24 hours a day on 07971 892692 or alternatively you can email them in confidence.
