International optical manufacturers Zeiss have announced a stunning sponsorship package for Newton Rigg College’s Game and Wildlife department.

Zeiss, world leaders in optics and optoelectronics announced their support at this year’s National Shooting Show. Founded in 1846 with headquarters in Oberkochen, Germany, the Zeiss Group develops, produces and distributes measuring technology, microscopes, medical technology, eyeglass lenses, camera and cine lenses, binoculars and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Zeiss have generously donated a host of optical equipment from their newly released Conquest V4 range for students to use in lessons and enrichment activities. The state of the art equipment will be a real asset on the College’s grouse moor and deer management forest.

Senior Lecturer of the Game & Wildlife department, Curtis Mossop, explained the incredible benefits to students, “We are elated that such a big name within the shooting industry has pledged such massive support to our students. This incredible gesture by Zeiss demonstrates their commitment to the future of our industry and the young men and women who will be the next generation of gamekeepers and wildlife managers.”

The gamekeeping department at Newton Rigg College has a stellar reputation in the industry, with 100% of students going straight in to the industry or to study higher education. Securing these fantastic links in the gamekeeping industry is another example of our commitment to ensuring the best possible opportunities for students.
