RHS Certificate in Practical Horticulture Level 2

Overview
This Level 2 qualification can provide a route into the horticultural profession, it can support career development for those already working in the field of horticulture or it can provide a foundation for further learning or training.
Description
The course is a mix of lectures, practical skills training, demonstrations and garden visits. The course consists of six core modules; soil testing, sowing seeds and vegetative propagation techniques, practical skills in ground preparation for seeding and planting, practical skills in establishing seeds and plants in soil, care and pruning of plants, identification of a range of common garden plants, weeds, pests, diseases and disorders and beneficial organisms (plus one optional module).
This course can be studied at our York Centre or at Newton Rigg or Brockhole in Cumbria.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements other than a keen interest in Horticulture.
Further Study
Upon successful competion of this course it is recommended that students progress onto the Level 2 RHS Principles of Horticulture course before progressing onto Level 3 RHS qualifications.
