Complementary Therapies Level 3
Level 3 is a higher level qualification suitable as a progression route from Level 2 or as a qualification on its own for those interested in the more holistic aspects of Beauty Therapy. Throughout the year there will also be opportunity to visit a variety of industry related exhibitions such as Salon International, Holistic Health and Scottish Hair and Beauty and educational trips to Bath Thermae Spa and Inglenook Farm Lavender and Chamomile farm, to name a few.
Course themes include: principles and practices for complementary therapies, business practice for complementary therapies, knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology for complementary therapies, providing body massage, aromatherapy and reflexology for complementary therapies.
Applicants are advised to have a Level 2 Beauty or Complementary Therapy qualification, but this is not a specific requirement and personal situations would be discussed at interview, or relevant industry experience.
Usually at least 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (new GCSE grading levels 4 to 9) to include any 2 from English, Maths and Science with at least a grade D in the remaining subject. Alternatively a suitable Level 2 vocational qualification (Merit or above) with English and Maths at Level 2
Upon successful completion of this course students may wish to progress onto a Level 4 course or into industry.
