Fresh Start Uplands Academy
The Fresh Start Uplands Academy is a new initiative designed to bring new blood into practical upland farming and other land based businesses in the uplands. If you are interested in establishing a business in this area or are seeking the next step then this course is for you.
We welcome applications from new entrants, shepherds and herdsmen, foresters and family farm members looking to take over a farm.
The course is based at the National Centre for the Uplands at Newton Rigg College near Penrith, Cumbria.

Programme
The Uplands Academy will consist of 8 sessions run over 4 days

Optional farm visits will be arranged between February and June. The course will use case studies and a range of tutors including farmers, lecturers, land agents, solicitors, and agricultural consultants. There will be a £50 charge for the eight sessions.
