Free Transport for All Full Time Students

We may be able to offer full time students free transport to and from Newton Rigg College!
 

By Bus

Stagecoach Services offer scheduled routes throughout Cumbria and the surrounding counties. The county council also runs regular bus services for those aged 16-18. These run from the following towns with stops at places along each route. Please note routes may vary.

• Gretna, Longtown, Brampton
• Tebay, Kirkby Stephen, Brough, Temple Sowerby
• Ambleside, Windermere, Kendal, A6
• Cleator Moor, Whitehaven, Cockermouth, Keswick
• Maryport, Aspatria, Wigton
• Nenthead, Alston, Melmerby, Langwathby
• Carlisle vai the A6 to Penrith

 

NEW for 2014 - Connecting to the North East!

Our dedicated free shuttle service from the North East picks up residential students on a Sunday evening and takes them back to the College. A drop-off service, returning students to their preferred location, will also operate on a Friday afternoon in time for spending the weekend at home. Find Out More: North East Connection

By Train

There is a good rail service from the north and the south via the west coast main line to Penrith Railway station just 1.5 miles away. Stagecoach has scheduled bus routes to and from College.

By Bicycle

There is a cycle track from the edge of Penrith straight to the Newton Rigg campus.
