Just Relaxing
Sometimes you just want to meet friends and relax. On our lovely landscaped campus, there’s loads of space for everyone to enjoy, or you can meet in our newly refurbished students social areas where there is satellite TV, vending and games machines, pool and table tennis.
Out and about in Cumbria
The Lake District is known as ‘The Adventure Capital of the UK’; it offers clubs and activities galore from walking the hills, climbing the crags or getting to grips with sailing. The campus is situated amongst rolling hills on the edge of the Lake District, so if you love the outdoors, you’ll love studying here. Just two miles down the road is the pretty town of Penrith, with its lively restaurants, pubs, nightclubs, a cinema, and a good range of high street and specialist shops. The large and friendly town is a perfect place to have fun with your friends and is easily accessible by a local bus route; please contact us for further details. Just a half hour drive or 15 minute train ride from Penrith will take you to the City of Carlisle which features an extensive variety of shops, museums, historical sites, bars, pubs and restaurants.
Trips and visits
Many courses include trips to events and shows. Sometimes overseas trips are arranged and there may be opportunities to go on international student exchange programmes (subject to funding being available in the future).
Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
The College is registered as a centre to run the Duke of Edinburgh Award, so whether you’ve already completed some of the awards or are entirely new to it, you’ll find yourself helping people or the community, getting fitter, developing skills, going on an expedition and if you reach the Gold Award, taking part in a residential activity. But here’s the best bit - you get to choose what you do! Your programme can be full of activities and projects that get you buzzing and along the way you’ll pick up experiences, friends and talents that will stay with you for the rest of your life.
* Purchase and consumption of alcohol is strictly limited to over 18s. We operate a photo ID badge system.
