National Trophy Winner Newton Rigg Horticulture Student Tom White

Congratulations to BTEC L3 Horticultural Student Tom White who has just won the prestigious Prince of Wales Perpetual Challenge Trophy.

Tom succeeded over all the other nominees to win the award which focuses on students who have shown a particular understanding and commitment to sustainable cultivation.

In addition to the Trophy, Tom will receive a cheque for £500 and a certificate, signed by HRH The Prince of Wales and has been invited to dine as a guest of the Worshipful Company of Gardeners at Drapers' Hall in the City of London on the 4th July.

Tom is an adult learner on the second year of his BTEC L3 Horticulture course here at Newton Rigg College.
