National Open Garden Scheme - Newton Rigg College Gardens

Date: 18th July 2017

A large number of visitors enjoyed the sunshine and the gardens at Newton Rigg College during this year's open day for the National Open Garden Scheme.

Many thanks to Shelagh Todd and her team who welcomed a constant stream of visitors to the gardens last Thursday. Very favourable comments accompanied the tea and refreshments as visitors took a break from touring the extensive gardens, meadows and ponds that provide the background for stunning displays of flowers, plants, trees and shrubs. The scheme is a major fundraiser for a range of charities including the Queen’s Nursing Institute, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Macmillan Cancer Support, Hospice UK, Carers’ Trust, Marie Curie and Parkinson’s UK.
