Intermediate Apprenticeship Sports Turf (Greenkeeper or Groundsman)

Overview

This course incorporates on-the-job training at your place of work with some College-based study.

Description

Apprentices studying this Level 2 qualification will get experience of a range of practical skills including health and safety, personal performance, effective working relationships, preparing ground and establishing plants and seeds, health, condition and repair of sportsturf, non-powered, hand held and pedestrian-controlled powered equipment, plus various optional units. The principal focus of this course is to learn techiques relevant to the maintenance of sports surfaces, such as football and rugby pitches, cricket grounds and golf courses.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry qualifications are required for this course. Applicants will need an appropriate work placement or employment. We may be able to help you to find a suitable position.

Further Study

Upon successful completion of this course apprentices may go on to study a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area.
