Level 3 Sport (Football Pathway)

Overview

Our football pathway offers students the opportunity to combine academic sporting qualifications with practical skills development, coaching and competitive fixtures, while gaining a comprehensive overview of the sports industry.

Description

Students will work daily on their fitness and sport related skills, gaining knowledge of key issues in sport. Students will also be organising and managing the day to day sporting facilities. Course themes include Anatomy and physiology, Physiology of fitness, Assessing risk in sport, Fitness training and programming, Sports coaching and development, Fitness testing for sport and exercise, Practical team sports and individual sports, Sports nutrition, Exercise health and lifestyle, Sports injuries, Analysis of sports performance, Sport events. All above themes will link to your specific pathway.

Entry Requirements

Usually at least 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (new GCSE grading levels 4 to 9) to include any 2 from English, Maths and Science with at least a grade D in the remaining subject. Alternatively a suitable Level 2 vocational qualification (Merit or above) with English and Maths at Level 2
