Intermediate Apprenticeship Horticulture

Overview

This Level 2 course incorporates on-the-job training at your place of work with some College-based study (block release weeks scheduled throughout the year). Many employers now look for employees with Apprenticeship or Advanced Apprenticeship qualifications. Work-Based Diplomas include practising and demonstrating a range of skills in general amenity horticulture.

Description

The course modules include maintaining and developing personal performance, effective working relationships, preparing ground for seeding and planting, establishing plants or seeds in soil, maintain moisture levels for crops or plants, mstablishing crops or plants in a growing medium, maintain the condition of sports turf surfaces, health of sports turf, construct and maintain boundaries and paths, construct and maintain paths plus health and safety.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry qualifications are required, all applicants must have an appropriate work placement or be in employment. We may be able to help you to find a suitable position.

Further Study

Upon successful completion of this course students may progress onto a full time Level 2 course or on to a Level 3 course. Students also could go straight into employment.
