Don’t worry, we provide services which can enable you to be a successful learner

At Newton Rigg we have a dedicated, friendly and professional Additional Learning Needs Team of specialist Skills Development Tutors (SDT), Student Learning Assistants (SLA) and others to enable you to develop effective independent learning strategies.

Here are some of the services we can provide:

• Extra staff in class who will make notes, make sure you understand tasks, meet deadlines and enable you to develop independent learning skills.
• 1:1 appointments with our friendly tutors, including, if you are dyslexic, some tips to enable you to improve your assignments.
• An Independent Living Assistant (ILA) to make your residential experience fun and exciting, enabling you to make friends and build your confidence.
• If you need an up-to-date assessment by a qualified Educational Psychologist, we will arrange this for you and guide you through the process.
